Dr. Elena Labarta. MD, Ph.D, is an attending physician at Valencian Institute of Infertility (IVI), Valencia, Spain, where she serves as a specialist in Human Reproduction and Assisted Reproductive Techniques, and as a surgeon specialized in Endoscopic surgery since 2005.
Since 2008, she is associate professor and medical coordinator of several Master related to Human Assisted Reproduction by the University of Valencia.

Research activity
Dr. Labarta has participated in several clinical research projects and has contributed to over 25 publications on assisted reproduction in peer reviewed international journal and written more than 45 book chapters. She is an international speaker.
Dr. Labarta was awarded a Doctor Cum Laude in Medicine, University of Valencia in 2014, the title of her thesis being “Influence of Ovarian stimulation during in vitro fertilization treatment on the incidence of embryo aneuploidies”.
Dr Labarta´s research is now focused on the predictive value of luteal serum progesterone levels in ART; Ovarian Stimulation and Embryo Quality; Uterine Evaluation and treatment in infertile patients, and the impact of autologous mitochondrial transfer on Oocyte and Embryo Quality in IVF Patients, among others.
Honors and Recognition
- As a co-author, she received the Scientific Program Prize Paper Award at the 2008 Annual Meeting of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM).
- Golden Medal “Foro Europa 2001”, for her professional career. 2015, Madrid.
