OBJECTIVE


IVI Foundation Award program, sponsored by MSD, aims to recognize and reward the best research Project planned from groups of excellence in Reproductive Medicine by funding its execution. IVI Foundation is a non-profit foundation established in 1997 to manage and foster all research, teaching and corporate social responsibility of the IVIRMA Global. The award is biannual and based on both objective assessment of previous historical record on research from the research group and mainly its principal investigator and the translational impact and influence in the field of assisted reproduction of their previous research together with the innovation level, the interest and potential of the research project presented to improve infertile couples care and infertility treatments. Prospective projects to evaluate the efficacy and/or safety of MSD drugs or other companies’ drugs will be excluded.

AWARDS


50,000 Euros together with IVI Foundation technical resources dedicated to support the research project and personnel to assist and cooperate in its execution in a collaborative manner. There will be 2 awards: 25,000 euros for a mainly basic research project and 25,000 euros for a mainly clinical/translational research project.

The Jury is composed by members of IVIRMA Scientific Advisory Board and external members.

ASSESSMENT PROCEDURE


IVI Foundation Award will be granted to the best research project in reproductive medicine as decided by the jury, on the basis of the principal investigator and research team curricula, experience and previous contribution to the field’s knowledge, and the potential of the basic and clinical research projects presented in order to promote a significant improvement in the reproductive medicine field.

Novelty, potential translation and influence on the current practice and expected mid or long term benefit to help infertile patients will be evaluated, together with the previous research group capability to conduct the project and finish it in a timely manner.

The awardees will present the following lectures. A 15 minutes lecture during the IVIRMA International congress 2019 main programme, describing their scientific knowledge so far obtained in relationship with the awarded project and updates about the main topic. A 10 minutes lecture describing their future project during the IVI Foundation 2019 Awards Ceremony. And they will present the project results at the next IVIRMA International Congress in 2021 in a plenary lecture.

MSD is not a member of the Jury.

The awards payment will be done by bank transfer.
